AN AWESOME EVENT

Focus on Recovery Augusta and Savannah River ROC were able to raise right at $5,600 creating a split of funds for each center of precisely $2,800. There were over 20 volunteers on site for the race that day. We had 115 runners. 95 of those registered in advance with another 10 showing up to register the day of. We had individuals travel from over 2 hours away after finding the race on a Run Georgia website calendar. Trophies were given away for multiple age groups as well as top 3 male and female finishers. 

 

WHY WE DO THIS

Focus on Recovery Augusta continues to leverage money raised to support its Uber Rides program as well as providing first-month access to residential sober living at certified locations around Georgia. This year alone we have provided right at 1000 rides to individuals in recovery to meetings, work, appointments, interviews, School and more. We have provided access to sober living to 10 individuals and their families. These folks gained access to safe living paired with compassionate care from recovery coaches and more traditional recovery models. 

 

Savannah River ROC continues to build out their space in North Augusta. The funds raised for them will help establish a space in North Augusta to provide those necessary pathways to recovery, peer coaching, harm reduction efforts and more.
